Welcome to our regular Saturday feature “What Aggravates Me”
Written By Comedian John Knight
You’ve probably heard about the “Tide Pod” challenge, where idiot teenagers were filming themselves eating laundry detergent pods. It was on the news and trending for a few days last week. I decided to do one of my “What Aggravates Me” videos to parody while it was still hot. You only get so long in this short attention span world.
So we did “Tide Pod Aggravation” and posted it on YouTube last week and then on Facebook at the beginning of this week. The day after I posted it, YouTube announced they would be pulling all videos dealing with the “Tide Pod” challenge. I assumed this wouldn’t affect me, since I was making fun of the trend.
Well, guess what? Today I received an e-mail from YouTube telling me that my video was flagged for review. Upon review, they determined that it violates their guidelines. I was also assigned a “Community Guidelines strike” or temporary penalty to my account.
YouTube doesn’t allow content that encourages or promotes violent or dangerous acts that have an inherent risk of physical harm or death. If you haven’t seen it yet, watch this video and tell me if you see me risking death.
First of all, I didn’t even use a “Tide Pod.” In the video I say it’s Cheer, but I think it’s actually Arm & Hammer. Second, I don’t actually eat the “Tide Pod,” excuse me, Arm & Hammer. The reason I didn’t actually use Tide is because we spent all of the budget on special effects.
Anyway, check it out and you tell me if you think it encourages dangerous behavior. I think it’s an obvious parody and nobody would believe they would get the same results as me, if they actually ate one of these things.
I feel that I was wrongly accused and plead my innocence. Check out the video and see for yourself. I welcome any comments to back up my claim of innocence. Oh, and if you want to say it’s not funny…you can keep those comments to yourself Jagoff.
